What is the difference between shorter-term Coaching and longer-term Mentoring?

Coaching is goal-oriented. You're focused on a specific result and most of our conversations revolve around this. I answer your questions, and guide your way strategically - much like a sports coach does. Our mutual goal is the achievement of your desired result.

Mentoring includes coaching, but is not always strategy-based, results-focused, or goal-oriented. I am always available to coach my mentoring clients, but the longer-term relationship we share involves more dedicated commitment to stepping into a larger vision, over time.

Mentoring is about being in close proximity to your mentor, who has achieved the result you want, so that you can absorb the way they think, their lifestyle that supports their achievements, and an intimate relationship in which you're welcome and invited to ask any questions you like, way more frequently than in any other question/answer container she provides.

When it comes to mentoring, think of it being more like an artist apprentice, like Michelangelo with his mentors and mentees - it's not just about producing art, though that very much is a part of it. It's really about doing life together, living the lifestyle.

Additional bonus of longer-term mentoring with me: Voxer is only included in longer-term mentoring. This is an app that allows for multi-media communication on a private 1:1 basis, 24 hours a day. Basically, you message me when something comes up for you, and I pop in regularly to respond and answer every one of your questions.

Why Can't A Mentor Be Easily Replaced By A Friend Or Therapist?

The simple answer is no. Friends are closely involved in your life, and likely have been for years. They are there to support you. While a mentor is too, she will also "tell it like it is" when necessary, when it comes to thinking patterns, perspectives, and habits.

Too often our close friends also think and live a similar way to us, which is wonderful and comforting - but when we want to advance a skill or create transformation in an area in our lives, we hire mentors who have achieved the results we want.

As far as therapists go, there are many wonderful ones out there. There are also those who were trained in old paradigms (like the toxic patriarchy) that will do more harm than good for women who are looking to be more empowered in every area of their life. Therapists are also traditionally trained to "help" their clients in areas they haven't experienced themselves, so they don't understand through experience the nuances you are experiencing now.

Further, therapists are taught *not* to to tell their own personal stories with their clients, which, if you've been through any level of trauma, you know is an invaluable powerful healing tool for advancement.

Our shorter-term sessions take place in a private, 1:1 virtual setting, on Zoom.

In addition to finding solutions in shorter periods of time, these shorter-term sessions are for women who are thinking of investing in longer-term mentoring packages with me (3, 6, or 12 month packages), but want to first get a taste of what it would be like.
